Kids love making things, and Christmas is the best time for some crafting. Help kids of every age group make decorations and ornaments to celebrate this special time like a family. Simple crafts they can do on their own will bring a lot of joy and feeling of accomplishment.

Christmas is one of our family’s favorite holidays. Using the shopping, parties, and just plain playing around which goes along with this holiday, we love to to try and set aside some time with each other and our daughter to produce some toddler Christmas crafts. Sometimes the crafts are Christmas gifts, sometimes Christmas decorations, and frequently they are just a fun way to spend a couple of hours! We have tried to include kids Christmas crafts here that are appropriate for a variety of ages and talents.

Shepherd's Crook Ornament

Shepherds were watching their sheep when angels announced for them the birth of Christ. A simple Christmas craft can be made using a candy cane because the shepherd's staff and a few craft materials. Make use of a non-spring clothespin for the shepherd. Glue a strip of material onto the shepherd for his robe and the other for his headdress. Kids can draw a face around the shepherd with markers. If you wrap a chenille stem round the shepherd, it forms an arm on both sides, then wrap one arm round the cane.

Angels of Joy

Angels played a huge role in the events surrounding Jesus' birth. Make an angel garland Christmas craft. Give a variety of inexpensive Christmas bows, craft sticks, markers and ribbon. Kids will disseminate the loops of one bow and glue an art stick in the flat core bow. Kids may draw a face around the craft stick toward the very best. Then, have them write vertically, J O Y. Possess the kids make several of the "joy" angels. Then, thread an extended piece of ribbon through a top loop on each angel for hanging.

Evergreen Cross

A great size of the pieces is all about 12 inches and 18 inches. Kids can easily form a cross using the evergreen pieces. Use clear fishing line or colorful ribbon to cover the center of the cross many times to hold the two pieces together. The kids may glue or tie some decorations to the cross, such as gold stars, a nativity picture, angels or any other desired items.
