It shouldn’t be forgotten the reboot first came into being when Goyer wrote a brand new approach for the character and presented it to Nolan, who consequently pitched it to Warner. Consequently, it has their DNA running throughout it.

“What Christopher Nolan and that i have done with Superman is attempt to bring the same naturalistic approach that people adopted for the Batman trilogy,” says Goyer. “We always were built with a naturalistic approach, we want our stories to become rooted in reality, like they might happen in the same world we reside in.

“It’s not that easy with Superman,” he continues, “and actually this doesn’t suggest we will make a new movie. But focusing on this reboot we're thinking about what would happen if your story like this one actually happened.

“How would people respond to this? What impact would the existence of Superman in the real world have? Things i really like to do is write ‘genre’ stories with no cartoonish element. I did exactly the same with Da Vinci’s Demons, and I’ll perform the same with Man Of Steel.”
