Mumford & Sons bumps Bieber U.K. band's Babel debuts

Mumford & Sons' new album 'Babel' has achieved the largest sales week of 2012 in america Billboard Chart.

The group sold a lot more than 600,000 copies of the second LP in the usa but Daniel Glass - of the US label Glassnote - says the boys will not be getting over-the-top gifts to celebrate their success.

He told MTV: "No new cars. We've something we think is extremely special … we hug. We're big huggers. We'll give them a big hug and compliments on their own job."

Daniel says he always knew this guitar rock band - made up of Marcus Mumford, 'Country' Winston Marshall, Ben Lovett and Ted Dwane - could be successful as they're so talented and work very hard, especially when on tour.

He explained: "I can go back to the beginning and that i knew we were signing a really talented band to the roster.

"They delivered incredible music for any second time … and also the work that was done, it is extremely empowering and shows lots of confidence when a band is out for almost two months playing audio from the new album for his or her fans and shares it together and makes the fan experience so wonderful and inclusive.

"The attitude of Mumford & Sons is the fact that fans really do come first and person to person is important. They've allow you to in on new music for a long time and it's not really a marketing ploy. It's been that unfurling and exposure happening for a year . 5 with the new music."

'Babel' also enjoyed the largest launch week for just about any album in the US on music streaming service Spotify for 2012, being streamed eight million times on Spotify in america alone.

Kenneth Parks, Spotify's chief content officer, said: "Babel's eight million-plus streams on Spotify tend to be more than three times those of the previous record holder."
